Where are the various IT&E departments located in the Engineering Building?

Where are the computer labs located in the Engineering Building?

  • IT&E operates a lab in the Engineering Building, room 1506
  • George Mason University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees, and is a member of the Council of Graduate Schools in the United States.

Are the IT&E programs accredited?

  • Yes, many IT&E undergraduate programs are accredited by the appropriate boards, which would include ABET-EAC for the engineering programs and ABET-CAC for the computer science program. For more details, contact the individual departments for accreditation information pertinent to specific degrees.

Where can I find out who my advisor is? How often should I see my advisor?

  • Call the appropriate department office of your major to determine who your advisor is (see above for locations). It is imperative that you meet with your advisor at least once a semester.

How can I find out which classes I have registered for? How can I view my academic records?

  • You can view your academic records online by using PatriotWeb. You can view frequently asked questions about PatriotWeb here.

Where do I go to find special request forms?

  • They are available online on the VSIT&E website or in the literature display in the hall outside of Suite 2500 in the Engineering Building. Be sure to read the University’s policies pertaining to special requests.

How do I get the results of a special request?

  • You can call the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies' office at (703) 993-1511 or the Senior Associate Dean' office at (703) 993-1505 to get the results of a special request. You will receive results in the mail. Make sure your address is current in Patriot Web and that you keep copies of approved requests.

Where can I learn more about financial aid and scholarship opportunities?

  • Entering freshmen compete for University Scholars Awards and Deans' Scholarships. Contact the Office of Student Financial Aid (703-993-2353) for more information on financial aid and scholarships.

Where can I learn more about cooperative education and internship opportunities?

Where can I go to get help with any academic difficulties or other problems relating to my life at the University?

  • T&E students should go to Suite 2500 in the Engineering building or call 703-993-1511 and make an appointment to see the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies. Graduate students should call 703-993-1505 to make an appointment to see the Senior Associate Dean to try to resolve any problems in your academic study.
