The Volgenau School’s Corporate Partnership ProgramWinter, 2011 The Volgenau School of Engineering at George Mason University has matured into a premier Engineering School. One of our strengths is the partnerships we have developed with companies in the Northern Virginia area. We believe these collaborations boost student success and build a strong workforce. The Corporate Partnership Program The Volgenau School’s Corporate Partnership program was created for companies who want to be notably visible and accessible to our Engineering students and faculty.
Our Corporate Partners offer our students paid internships, as well as full time positions, within their vital and innovative companies. Their financial support allows us to offer programs that help us recruit and retain outstanding students. An Invitation to Join The Corporate Partnership Program Corporate Partners receive the “red phone approach” – when they call we respond. They receive priority placement at our annual engineer’s day job fair, and annual awards gala and their logo is featured on our 24’ Corporate Partner wall in the entry of our Engineering building. We create a customized plan that connect our partners with The Volgenau School in ways that provide them with return on their investment. The annual fee for membership is $12,500. The extensive list of benefits can be sent to you for your review. We value our collaboration with our industry partners. We hope that you will consider joining this partnership program and reap the benefits other companies have found to be so rewarding. We have been a member of the Corporate Partnership since 2006. Our Corporate Partnership status ensures General Dynamics is informed of activities on campus through focused engagement. Leveraging their experience and expertise, General Dynamics thought leaders also have the opportunity to provide valuable insights for new courses offered to students. As a company that cultivates talent and invests in its people, this early engagement with the next generation of engineers is invaluable. We are consistently impressed with the students who have participated in part-time internships or became full-time entry-level employees. HARRIS CORPORATIONOur corporate partnership has provided us with the means to have a near-constant presence on campus and involvement with students and faculty has provided us with unparalleled access to established and emerging thought leaders. Our efforts have been well rewarded. Interest and awareness in Harris has increased tremendously amongst the faculty and students. Harris will have three employees teaching as adjunct professors in the Masters of Computer Forensics program, and we have been asked to help shape their curriculum. We are pleased to be a Volgenau School Corporate Partner and look forward to growing our relationship further in the years to come. CSCOne point of contact at the School.
