ENGINEERS DAY CELEBRATION IN RECOGNITION OF NATIONAL ENGINEERS WEEK
National Engineers Week is dedicated to increasing public awareness and appreciation of engineers and to encourage interest in science, technology, and engineering. The day will be filled with fun and interesting activities hosted by The Volgenau School student clubs and IT & Engineering School Departments who will be showcasing their work in robotics, gaming and other fields. Events also include the popular annual popsicle-stick bridge building competition for local area high school students. This event is a real crowd pleaser and illustrates a lot of civil engineering principles. Additionally, over 40 local companies will have exhibit booths at the event where they will share some of their latest technological advances and interact with, and potentially recruit students. We encourage you to attend this event. Anyone who has attended in the past had a great deal of fun, learned some new things about engineering and connected with like-minded people. Throughout the day, they’ll be a variety of food available including cake at the opening ceremony, free-give aways, and more, stop by at some point during that day! More details to follow. Questions: please call Linda Kovac at 703-993-9375 or lkovac@gmu.edu.
