Presidential Management Fellows Information
Annually the *Presidential Management Fellows (PMF)* Program of the US Office of Personnel Management accepts applications from graduate students who are in their final year of graduate programs in any discipline. The PMF is open to US Citizens or those who will achieve citizenship by the time of appointment to a PMF position. PMF offers a two year (full pay and benefits) prestigious fellowship in federal government leadership. Last year (PMF Class of 2009) 60 Mason students submitted applications; seven were successful PMF finalists. Nationally over 5000 applicants competed for 400 PMF positions.

Graduate students *from all academic disciplines* who expect to complete an advanced degree (MA, MS, PhD, Law, etc.....) from a qualifying college or university *by August 31 of the academic year *(e.g., January, May or August 2010 graduates) in which the competition is held are eligible to apply to the PMF Program.

Important Dates and Deadlines:
- Monday, Sept. 14, 5:30-7pm Annual George Mason University PMF Information session with a panel of Mason alumni PMFs. All Mason grad students interested in PMF, are invited to attend an information session at Arlington Original Bldg., room 329.
Bring your questions and obtain advice from your Mason alumni colleagues who are Presidential Management Fellows.

Thursday, October 1, 2009:
- Application for the PMF Class of 2010 opens via a vacancy announcement on USAJOBS or as a link under the "How to ApplyPMF Application" section of this website
- First day Nomination Officials may fax nominations

Thursday, October 15, 2009:
- * Application for the PMF Class of 2010 closes*

Saturday, October 31, 2009:
- *Deadline for Nomination Officials to fax nominations** *
- Deadline for applicants to submit supporting documentation for any claims for veterans' preference and/or Indian preference

Late November 2009:
- Applicants officially notified of eligibility and nomination status
- Nominees notified of assessment date/time/location

January/February 2010 - * Assessments conducted nationwide*

Late February/Early March 2010 - Nominees notified of finalist status

Late March/Early April 2010 - PMF Class of 2010 Finalists Job Fair (Washington, DC, metro area)
