Students must take 15 credits from one of the four concentration areas: Information Technology, Business and Economics, Law and Public Policy, and Health Care and Services Industry.

Information Technology Concentration
Students who select the Information Technology concentration must take fifteen credits, which must include the following three 3-credit courses:

In addition to these three courses, students must take at least one  course from Information Technology list and at most one course from the Business and Economics , Law and Public Policy, and Health Care and Services Industry lists to complete the five courses required for the Information Technology concentration.

Note: For students interested in the IT concentration, the Department of Information and Software Engineering has created a Certificate in Electronic Commerce for MS in E-Commerce Students. The courses for the certificate are the following:

INFS 612 Principles and Practices of Communication Networks
INFS 614 Database Management
INFS 770 Knowledge Management for E-Business
ISA 662 Information System Security
ISA 767 Secure Electronic Commerce

Thus, INFS 614, INFS 612 and ISA 662 would constitute the required courses and INFS 770 and ISA 767 would constitute the remaining courses for the 15 credits of the Information Technology concentration.

Students may opt for the certificate, or may take the three required courses and select electives from the Information Technology list.

Business and Economics Concentration
Students must take MBA 623 Marketing Management and select four additional courses from the list below.

Students must take fifteen credits by choosing, in consultation with their advisor, a coherent set of courses from the Law and Public Policy list.

Health Care and Services Industry Concentration

Students must take 15 credits: 12 required and 3 elective credits. The elective course is selected, in consultation with the advisor, from the Health Care and Services Industry Courses below.

The course HSCI 678 can be waived for students that have prior, broad health care experience.The course HSCI 709 can be waived for students with prior experience with database design and Structured Query Language (SQL).

Electives may be used to substitute for HSCI 678 and 709. Suggested electives are:

HSCI 745 Health Care Security Policy (3 credits), and those from List D Below.

Students may also earn the Health Care Information System Certificate which consists of the following suite of six courses (18 credits):
