Professors Dimitris Ioannou and Qiliang Li, ECE department, receive $349K from NSF
Professors Dimitris Ioannou and Qiliang Li (co-PI), of our Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, received a $349,482 award from the National Science Foundation for their project titled: “Nano-scale Field Effect Diode-Based Memory and Electrostatic Protection Devices." The period of performance is from 08/15/2009 through 07/31/2012.
Professors Fei Li and Cliff Stein (Columbia Univ) receive $388K NSF award
Professor Fei Li, of our Computer Science Department, is the PI on the three-year $387,581 project titled "AF:Small Collaborative Research: Online Scheduling Algorithms for Networked Systems.” The period of performance is 08/01/2009 through 08/31/2012.

The co-PI on the project is Prof. Cliff Stein from Columbia University with a budget of $167,222.
Professor William Rosenberger receives $134K from NSF
Professor William Rosenberger, chair of our Statistics Department, received $134,000 from the National Science Foundation for his project titled ”Topics in the Theory of Randomization II.” The initial period of performance is 08/01/2009 through 07/31/2012.
Prof. Sushil Jajodia, Dr. Anup Ghosh, and Profs. Duminda Wijesekera and Angelos Stavrou receive $1.78 million in security awards
Prof. Sushil Jajodia, Director of the Center for Secure Information Systems (CSIS), Anup Ghosh, Chief Scientist of the CSIS, and Profs. Angelos Stavrou and Duminda Wijesekera, of the Department of Computer Science received the following recent awards for a total amount of $1,780,149.

1) Operational Transition of Proactive Network Risk Analysis Technology, AFRL, $959,652, PI: Sushil Jajodia, 05/11/09-11/07/11

2) A Laboratory for Proactively Preventing Phishing and Malcode Attacks Using Web Crawlers, ARO, $149,998, PI: Sushil Jajodia, co-PIs: Anup Ghosh, Angelos Stavrou, Duminda Wijesekera, 07/01/09-06/30/10

3) Secure Composition of Networked Systems Based on User Tasks and Organizational Policy, AFOSR, $670,499, PI: Sushil Jajodia, co-PIs: Angelos Stavrou, Duminda Wijesekera, 05/11/09-10/30/12
Dr. Anup Ghosh (PI), Prof. Sushil Jajodia (co-PI), and Prof. Angelos Stavrou (co-PI) received a $251K award from AFOSR
Dr. Anup Ghosh (PI), Chief Scientist of our Center for Secure Information Systems (CSIS), Professor Sushil Jajodia (co-PI), Director of the CSIS, and Prof. Angelos Stavrou (co-PI), of our Department of Computer Science, received an award in the amount of $250,675 from the AFOSR for their project titled ”A Laboratory for Large-Scale Testing of Self-Healing Enterprise Computing Systems.” The initial period of performance is 06/01/2009 through 05/31/2010.
Professor Rao Mulpuri receives $330K NSF Award
Professor Rao Mulpuri, of our Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, received a $330K award from the National Science Foundation for his project titled: “GOAL: Gallium Nitrate Nanowire-Nanocluster Hybrids For Chemical Sensing." The period of performance is from 08/01/2009 through 07/31/2012.
US Patent Awarded to Professor Arun Sood and Dr. Yih Huang
Professor Arun Sood, Professor of Computer Science and director of the International Cyber Center, and Dr. Yih Huang, Research Scientist in Center for Secure Information Systems (CSIS), were awarded the following patent by the US PTO:

Profs. Yariv Ephraim (PI) and Brian Mark (co-PI), of our Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, received a $473,235 3-year award from the National Science Foundation for their project "Recursive Estimation of Randomly Modulated Processes."
Prof. Qiliang Li receives prestigious NSF CAREER award
Prof. Qiliang Li, of our Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, who received a $400,000 grant from the National Science Foundation for his CAREER proposal: "High Performance Nanowire FETs for Logic and Memory." The period of performance is from July 2009 to June 2014.

Prof. Li is the 9th recipient of the prestigious NSF CAREER award in our school.
