Space-Time Turbo Codes for Robust Wireless Communications

Space-time turbo codes are proposed to use in a multiple antenna environment.  Compared with space-time trellis codes, the simulations show space-time turbo codes have robust performance in both quasi-static and time varying fading channels. Several new sufficient conditions to ensure the space-time codes achieve full space diversity in quasi-static fading channel are presented. The conditions are only functions of the code generator matrices or generator polynomials. These conditions greatly simplifies the code design.
