IntelliDyne Distinguished Undergraduate Scholarship

Award Details

A gift to establish the IntelliDyne Distinguished Undergraduate Scholarship in the Volgenau School at George Mason University will cover full in-state tuition and fees, a laptop computer in the freshman year, and a stipend to help with other expenses, for four years.

Award Criteria

The recipient will be a full-time freshman student, pursuing a degree in the Volgenau School, with the full intention of graduating from George Mason University. In addition, the following criteria will apply:

  • Students will qualify primarily on the basis of merit; financial need also will be taken into consideration.
  • Students under consideration will have attained high scores in course work and on standardized tests, such as the SAT and/or ACT. He or she also will have demonstrated other academic and leadership qualities.
  • The students’ interests will be examined for compatibility with IntelliDyne’s activities in Northern Virginia.
  • The recipient can be an in-state or out-of-state student; however, the tuition benefit will not exceed the in-state rate.

The student we seek as the IntelliDyne Distinguished Scholar will be an avid and aggressive learner who has demonstrated maturity, initiative, and independence as a high school student. In most cases, the Scholar will enter George Mason University with approximately a full semester of college credits earned either through AP, IB, or dual-enrollment college credits. The Scholar also may have won state or national information technology and science fair competitions, and may have secured patents and/or published his/her work in scholarly journals. Additionally, the Scholar may have started his or her own high-technology company while excelling in high school studies.

Award Process:

Recipients of this award will be selected from the pool of freshmen applicants to The Volgenau School. Students must apply to George Mason University by the January 15 th deadline to receive consideration.
