He is the editor-in-chief of Computing in Science & Engineering, a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and an associate member of the Association for Computing Machinery. He has authored four books, edited two conference proceedings, published over 100 research papers, and acquired three patents. His research interests include computer graphics, virtual reality, visualization, networking, and simulation.

He is broadly interested in big data and the development of efficient algorithms. Specific areas include big data algorithms for the Fourier transform and sparse recovery, foundations of machine learning, and randomized algorithms. He received his PhD in April 2018 at the University of Texas at Austin under the supervision of David Zuckerman. From 2018 to 2020, He was a postdoctoral fellow at Northwestern University.
