Peggy Brouse wins Mason’s Distance Education Award

Congratulations to Associate Professor Peggy Brouse, of the Volgenau School of Engineering's Systems Engineering & Operations Research Department. Brouse received the Distance Education Award for 2014 for her efforts supporting quality online course offerings. Associate Professor, Peggy Brouse

Criteria for this award include:

  • Efforts promote interactivity in online courses between the students, instructor, and content.
  • Course design reflects best practices with regards to content navigation, progression, chunking, as well as layout and use of multimedia resources.
  • Promotes appropriate use of technology and accessibility.
  • Assists with providing students with clear expectations and ample forms of assessment.

The Distance Education Award is one of George Mason University's annual Outstanding Achievement Awards. These awards are given to celebrate the hard work, dedication and achievements of Mason's faculty and staff across several awards categories. 

Award recipients were honored on November 4, 2014 at a ceremony at the Mason Global Center.
