Mason SciCast Featured in Wall Street Journal

George Mason's SciCast is one of three Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA) forecasting programs featured in the Wall Street Journal  "Numbers" column over the weekend.

SciCast focuses specifically on developments in science and technology, and has used a crowd-sourcing competion to increase the number of predictions. The SciCast researchers believe that tracking developments in these fields may help identify advances in weapons systems or emerging technologies in bioterrorism or cyberthreats.

"SciCast lets us measure the quality of our predictions and improve them," said Assistant Professor Charles Twardy, of the Volgenau School's C4I Center, who leads the project.
