Sam Malek Honored at 2013 Mason Emerging Researcher, Scholar, Creator Awards Dinner

Each year, Mason selects faculty members who show exceptional promise in their disciplines to receive Emerging Researcher, Scholar, Creator Awards. To qualify for this award and its $3,000 stipend, the faculty members must be within 10 years of receiving their terminal degrees and have growing national and international recognition for their work.

Malek earned his Ph.D. from the University of Southern California in 2007. His work focuses on Architecture-based Software Development and Deployment, Embedded and Distributed Systems, Middleware Solutions, Quality of Service Analysis.

"Dr. Malek's outstanding work is but one example of the excellent scholarship of our faculty at the Volgenau School," said Ken Ball, dean. "As we grow our reputation, I believe the Mason community will be hearing more about faculty members like Sam."
