Yue Cheng is broadly interested in computer systems. His research covers a range of topics including distributed systems, storage systems, cloud computing, and internet of things. Currently he is working on: (1) caching for multi-tier NoSQL stores; and (2) building systems with scalable memory on resource constrained gateway devices for Internet of Things.
Cheng received his PhD from the Department of Computer Science at Virginia Tech, where he worked with Ali R. Butt. As part of his doctoral experience he spent two summers at IBM Research Almaden in 2013 and 2014, and six months at Dell EMC Princeton Office in 2015.
