Why a photo challenge?
To promote National Engineers Week we want you (current VSE undergraduate and graduate students) to share engineering discoveries that make a difference. They can be your lab work, a service project, a capstone, or an invention. We'll award extra points for creativity, so go for it!
When do I need to submit my entry?
During National Engineers Week February 22-28, 2015
Why are we announcing this contest now?
So you have time to dig through your archives to find old photos, or take new ones.
How does it work?
- Follow the Volgenau School of Engineering! on Instagram on Twitter and/or Facebook

- Take your best photo of your interactions with engineering – take as many as you want!Di
- On Instagram and Twitter, tag the photo with #VSEDiscoverEs AND our handle respectively; on Facebook, post the photo directly to the page and tag with #VSEDiscoverEs.
- At the end of Engineer's Week we'll choose three winners from the submissions.
- The winners will be contacted via Instagram, Twitter or Facebook (wherever the photo was posted) to pick up the prize from the Volgenau School of Engineering's Dean's Office.

Do I have to be in the photo?
No, being in the photo is not required. We encourage you to find what embodies your connection to engineering discoveries that have an impact.
How many photos I can submit? Is there a limit?
No, submit as many photos as you like.
Can I submit photos I've previously taken?
Absolutely, as long as you tag them during the challenge time frame.
Who can participate and win in the challenge?
We encourage everyone to participate using the hashtag #VSEDiscoverEs, but only current undergraduate and graduate students can win prizes.

Photo submissions for entry to this challenge are open to current George Mason University students only. Need some pinspiration? Check out Pintrest
Eligibility: You must follow George Mason Volgenau School of Engineering on the platform on which you submit photos.
Fair Use: By submitting a photo you agree to allow the image to be used in Volgenau School of Engineering materials with attribution, including reposting to Instagram, physical displays of the winning photos on the Fairfax and Prince William campuses, and other communications and promotional materials.
Disqualification: Inappropriate and offensive photos will be disqualified and flagged at the school's discretion. Such photos may include, but are not limited to: the promotion of drugs, alcohol or tobacco products; sexually suggestive or explicit images; copyrighted materials not owned by the account holder; and/or any photos that are offensive, obscene or derogatory in nature.
