Four CEC faculty members win Presidential Faculty Excellence Awards

Four of the twelve Mason faculty members being honored with 2023 Presidential Awards for Faculty Excellence come from the College of Engineering and Computing. Two were recognized for research and two for impressive efforts to support diversity and inclusion at Mason. 

Bioengineering professor Giorgio Ascoli is the recipient of the Beck Family Presidential Medal for Faculty Excellence in Research. Assistant professor of Information Sciences and Technology Zhisheng Yan also won an award for research excellence.

Assistant professor of statistics Jonathan Auerbach, and instructional associate professor of Computer Science Shvetha Soundararajan received awards for excellence in efforts to improve diversity and inclusion.
