October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month and George Mason University has planned several activities that you can particiapte in. Every year since 2003 October has been recognized as National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM). This effort was brought to life through a collaboration between the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the National Cyber Security Alliance. NCSAM was created to ensure that every individual stays safe and secure online.

Join members of the IT Security Office staff to talk about online safety and security. Staff members will answer questions and will have giveaways to share with the Mason community. They will be at the kiosk until 1:15 p.m. each day.

About the Speaker:
Gibson has more than 25 years experience as a technology executive in private and public organizations. She joined Fairfax County Government in May 1999 as the county’s chief technology officer and director of the department of information technology. She is responsible for technology policy, innovation and management of a comprehensive portfolio of IT investments, programs systems and services in all disciplines across the county’s enterprise for all agencies and online services for constituents. Gibson has received numerous awards, including being named one of the Top Five Women CIOs by Government Technology magazine.
